L.Ac., Dipl.Ac., M.Ac.
I have been practicing acupuncture for more than 20 years and I am nationally board certified and licensed in Pennsylvania. I graduated from a unique Five Element Acupuncture apprenticeship in 1994 and earned my Masters degree in Acupuncture from Westbrook University in 1997. I wrote my thesis on eating disorders.
Some of my significant continuing education training includes: the Richard Tan Balance Method, which treats acute and chronic pain, quickly and effectively; certification by the International Cupping Therapy Association; CPR; the MeiZen method of Cosmetic Acupuncture; the Virginia Doran Facial Rejuvenation protocol; and scalp acupuncture for strokes and traumatic brain injury. I regularly participate in workshops and conferences to expand my knowledge in the field.
For the past five years, in addition to my private practice, I have been a Supervisor of third year acupuncture students in a clinic setting at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies, Pennsylvania’s only accredited acupuncture school. I also lecture there on topics such as: cosmetic acupuncture; nutrition; and using public speaking to build an acupuncture practice.
I am one of the practitioners selected by the Healing Consciousness Foundation, a non-profit organization in Bucks County, PA, founded by Dr. Beth DuPree, a prominent breast surgeon, to provide holistic services to women with breast cancer. I am the designated acupuncturist.
I am also a board member of the Association for Professional Acupuncture in PA (APA), and a past President. When this organization was known as the Acupuncture Society of PA, I served as its Secretary, Board Member, Newsletter Editor, and Referral Service Coordinator.
I have presented more than 50 lectures at schools, women’s groups, professional and community associations, health fairs, and other venues, as part of my commitment to educate the public about the benefits of this form of medicine.
One of my specialties is women at midlife and beyond, and the challenges they face. However, regardless of your gender or age, we will spend time discussing your lifestyle, the foods you eat, your medical history, your work, the things that stress you, and the things that give you joy. The more I know about you, the better able I am to help you.
I’ll teach you the benefits of respecting your own needs and working around your limitations. I’ll explain how to recognize the role that Nature and the seasons plays in your life. We’ll talk about the possibility of making certain changes that will greatly improve your well-being. From the first time we meet, I will always see you as a whole, healed person, even with your problems. And we’ll always work together, as a partnership. We can also focus on helping you become more of the person you want to be.
I hope this gives you a good introduction to how acupuncture and my practice can benefit you. I invite you to contact me for more details or to schedule an appointment. You can either e-mail me at: firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at: 215-869-1395. You may also make an appointment directly on my website. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to reach your healthy goals!
